NOTE: Some creators charge a signing fee at cons ranging from $1.00 to $10.00 per item signed. It is the CUSTOMERS responsibility to inform DWC what the limit to pay is. Otherwise DWC will pay the creator signing fee and bill the customer for the fee before the item is returned to the customer. Failure to inform DWC of any fee limitation prior to the book getting signed does not release the customer from financial obligations to DWC. PLEASE do not expect DWC to automatically know your limits. Please clearly state any limits on your submission form. Some creators who charge include but are not limit to: Jim Lee ($10), Joe Quesada ($10), Arthur Suydam ($20 for 2 items), Rob Liefeld ($20 for 2 items of either New Mutants 87 or 98), J. Scott Campbell ($5), Tony Moore ($5), Chris Claremont ($3).

Example A:  One modern to be signed by Brian Michael Bendis would be $36 plus return shipping. However, if you wanted to add Steve McNiven to the same book, you would add $10, so the total would be $36 plus $10 plus return shipping.

Example B:  One modern book to be signed by Brian Michael Bendis would be $36 plus return shipping. However, if you wanted to add John Romita (Premium Signature) to the same book, you would add $30, so the total would be $36 plus $30 plus return shipping.

These prices include 1 (one) regular signature, the CGC grading and encapsulation, witnessing fee, prepping the book(s), shipping, handling, and insurance to the event. The price does NOT include any return shipping, handling, or insurance back to the customer.

WHAT DO I DO TO GET THE BOOKS SIGNED?

A completely and properly filled out Desert Wind Comics submission form MUST be included with the submitted book(s). Failure to submit a submission form properly filled out WILL incur a $5.00 processing fee from DWC or may result in the books being returned to the customer at the customer’s expense. Please use the Desert Wind Comics submission form and follow the instructions listed in the information sheet on the Desert Wind Comics website at www.desertwindcomics.com. All orders MUST be prepaid in advance when the books are sent to DWC. Payment can be made either by credit card, PayPal or personal check. Checks must be made out to Desert Wind Comics. Paypal payments should be sent to desertwindcomics@hotmail.com

Please submit your book(s) in properly sized bag and board (please do not use larger boards “overboard” as damage may be caused in transit) with the back of each board labeled with your name, address, book title, issue number, and the talent you would like to sign each book. You MUST include the completed submission form with the books. Failure to submit a submission form properly filled out WILL incur a $5.00 processing fee from DWC. CGC Fast Track Fee $10.00

If you wish the reduce the time it takes to grade either a modern or economy tier submission then Fast Track is your ticket. The Fast Track service cuts the grading time in half which means you would get your modern tier submissions in only 10 business days instead of the regular 20 business days. Economy tier submissions are back in 20 business days instead of 40 business days. The Fast Track service is available for modern and economy tier submissions ONLY. The fee is $10.00 per book but if you choose the Fast Track option, it applies to all books on the submission form which means if you have 4 books you add $40.00 to the fees. You may NOT add Fast Track AFTER the invoice has been submitted to CGC.

NEW CGC FEE   CGC Submission Fee $5.00

Beginning in 2012, CGC is now charging a $5.00 per submission form “Handling Charge”. This fee is charged per submission form.

NEW DWC FEE   DWC De-slabbing Fee $3.00

Beginning in 2012, DWC is now charging a $3.00 per graded book “De-slabbing Charge”. This fee is charged per graded book sent into DWC that must be removed from any CGC or PGX encasement. If the customer provides a properly sized backing board (please do not use larger boards “overboard” as DWC will not use them due to possible damage) with the back of each board labeled with your name, address, book title, issue number, and the talent you would like to sign each book then the fee is only $2.00 per graded book. Although the customer may remove a blue label book, please note since a YELLOW LABEL (Signature Series) book MUST be opened by either a CGC CAW or employee, they can not be opened by a customer.

INK COLOR, SIGNATURE PLACEMENT AND SPECIAL REQUESTS?  $3.00

Books will be signed in either black or silver ink. Special requests for another ink color or signature placement requires an additional fee of $3.00 per request. If you are requesting any color other then black or silver, you must supply the pen to be used. Please test the pen and please note certain pens such as paint pens will not be used because of possible smearing of ink. Customer supplied pens will NOT be returned. If you are requesting a specific placement of the signature, please send either a Xerox copy of the cover and where you want it signed or mark on the outer bag or CGC outer casing (if sending a previously graded book) using a felt tip marker. Please note that special ink color and/or placement can not be guaranteed and fee will be refunded.

ADDING AN ADDITIONAL SIGNATURE?  $10.00

Any additional signatures are $10.00 each. Some artist may charge a signing fee or a small charity donation fee. Those fees are passed on to the customer. If the customer does not want to pay over a specific amount, then the customer must set the limit they are willing to pay in advance. The $10.00 fee does not apply to PREMIUM SIGNATURES. PREMIUM SIGNATURES are charged at a higher rate depending on the creator (i.e. Stan Lee, John Romita, Todd McFarlane, etc.).

Note: All additional signatures MUST be signed at the same show or event. CGC no longer allows books to be held for additional signatures at an additional show or event. Once the book has been signed at a show or event it MUST be submitted for grading by the conclusion of that show or event.

HOW DO I GET MY BOOKS  SHIPPED BACK?

The return shipping is $18.00 for the first book in each grading tier and $2.00 for each additional book in the same grading tier per shipment to US addresses. It includes up to $3000.00 insurance per package. Any additional insurance can be added at the rate of $1.00 per $1000.00 of insurance. For return shipping to a Canadian address, via FedEx Ground, it is $30.00 for the first book in each grading tier and $4.00 for each additional book in the same grading tier per shipment. For Canadian or International shipping note that insurance is NOT included with FedEx Ground shipping. The books must be shipped either FedEx Express (Overnight, 2 Day or 3 Day) or USPS Registered Mail to be insured.  Please inquire for shipping and insurance charges outside of the Continental United States or Canada. Customer is responsible for any and all custom fees and duties.

Each grading tier is shipped separately. DWC can NOT guarantee combined shipping requests.

Once you mail your book(s), please send an email to submissions@desertwindcomics.com listing the books in the shipment and the method of shipping and tracking number. In the subject line enter "Books for [your name]". This helps us to better track your shipment and make sure your books get properly identified. It is up to the customer to track the shipment to DWC. If you are a previous customer, please indicate if you have moved since your last submission.  If you plan on moving or move in the next several month, let us know by emailing changeaddress@desertwindcomics.com.
