CGC PRICING

ONSITE SUBMISSIONS ONLY  (Mail In see below++)

Our pricing for the different tiers is as follows:

* These prices include CGC grading and encapsulating and are subject to change.

** This price does not include CGC grading and would be comic books not graded, hard bound books, posters, baseballs, etc.).

*** This price is the charge to add an additional signature at the same show to a book.

Example A:  One modern to be signed by Andrew Wildman would be £28 plus return shipping. However, if you wanted to add Simon Furman to the same book, you would add £7, so the total would be £28 plus £7 plus return shipping.

These prices include 1 (one) regular signature, the CGC grading and encapsulation, witnessing fee, prepping the book(s), shipping, handling, and insurance to the event. The price does NOT include any return shipping, handling, or insurance back to the customer. See return shipping information below.

WHAT DO I DO TO GET MY BOOK SIGNED?

IN PERSON AT THE SHOW:

Stop by the DWC booth before getting your book signed to fill out a CGC submission form.

Books signed by Stan Lee: If you are getting your book signed by Stan Lee then take your filled out form and que in line for Stan. Once the book has been signed by Stan then simply step over to the DWC booth (which will be next to Stan) with both the book and the form to submit the book for CGC grading. VERY IMPORTANT: Do NOT walk away from the Stan Lee signing area with the book. If you leave the signing area then you will NOT be allowed to submit the book for grading. CGC has very specific rules. No EXCEPTIONS!

Books to be signed by other creators:

If you are getting you book(s) signed by any of the other creators present at the show then simply come to the DWC booth BEFORE you get your book signed to ask to be escorted by a CGC Witness. VERY IMPORTANT: Do NOT get your book signed without a CGC witness present. If you do then you will NOT be allowed to submit the book for grading. CGC has very specific rules. No EXCEPTIONS!

All orders MUST be paid at the time the book is submitted to be sent to CGC. Payment can be made either by credit card or PayPal or cash.

IF YOU WILL BE MAILING YOUR BOOK(S) IN ADVANCE AND NOT ATTENDING THE SHOW:

(WARNING: DO NOT MAIL BOOKS TO THE US. ONLY MAIL TO THE ADDRESS LISTED BELOW) A completely and properly filled out Desert Wind Comics submission form MUST be included with the submitted book(s). For mail-in submissions to the hotel listed below, failure to submit a submission form properly filled out WILL incur a £3 processing fee from DWC or may result in the books being returned to the customer at the customer’s expense. Please use the Desert Wind Comics submission form and follow the instructions listed in the information sheet on the Desert Wind Comics website at www.desertwindcomics.com. All orders MUST be prepaid in advance when the books are sent to DWC. Payment can be made either by credit card or PayPal. Paypal payments should be sent to desertwindcomics@hotmail.com

For mail-in submissions please submit your book(s) in properly sized bag and board (please do not use larger boards “overboard” as damage may be caused in transit) with the back of each board labeled with your name, address, book title, issue number, and the talent you would like to sign each book. You MUST include the completed submission form with the books. Failure to submit a submission form properly filled out WILL incur a £3 processing fee from DWC. The UK ship to address will be posted by February 10th. Ship the books signature required to:

CGC Fast Track Fee £7

If you wish the reduce the time it takes to grade either a modern or economy tier submission then Fast Track is your ticket. The Fast Track service cuts the grading time in half which means you would get your modern tier submissions in only 10 business days instead of the regular 20 business days. Economy tier submissions are back in 20 business days instead of 40 business days. The Fast Track service is available for modern and economy tier submissions ONLY. The fee is £7 per book but if you choose the Fast Track option, it applies to all books on the submission form which means if you have 4 books you add £28 to the fees. You may NOT add Fast Track AFTER the invoice has been submitted to CGC.

NEW CGC FEE   CGC Submission Fee £3

Beginning in 2012, CGC is now charging a £3 per submission form “Handling Charge”. This fee is charged per submission form.

NEW DWC FEE   DWC De-slabbing Fee £2

Beginning in 2012, DWC is now charging a £2 per graded book “De-slabbing Charge”. This fee is charged per graded book sent into DWC that must be removed from any CGC or PGX encasement. Although the customer may remove a blue label book, please note since a YELLOW LABEL (Signature Series) book MUST be opened by either a CGC CAW or employee, they can not be opened by a customer.

INK COLOR, SIGNATURE PLACEMENT AND SPECIAL REQUESTS?  £2

Books will be signed in either black or silver ink. Special requests for another ink color or signature placement requires an additional fee of £2 per request. If you are requesting any color other then black or silver, you must supply the pen to be used. Please test the pen and please note certain pens such as paint pens will not be used because of possible smearing of ink. Customer supplied pens will NOT be returned. If you are requesting a specific placement of the signature, please send either a Xerox copy of the cover and where you want it signed or mark on the outer bag or CGC outer casing (if sending a previously graded book) using a felt tip marker. Please note that special ink color and/or placement can not be guaranteed and fee will be refunded.

ADDING AN ADDITIONAL SIGNATURE?  £7

Any additional signatures are £7 each. Some artist may charge a signing fee or a small charity donation fee. Those fees are passed on to the customer. If the customer does not want to pay over a specific amount, then the customer must set the limit they are willing to pay in advance.

Note: All additional signatures MUST be signed at the same show or event. CGC no longer allows books to be held for additional signatures at an additional show or event. Once the book has been signed at a show or event it MUST be submitted for grading by the conclusion of that show or event.

HOW DO I GET MY BOOKS  SHIPPED BACK?

Return shipping is handled through FedEx International. If you have your own FedEx account number then you can use that instead. Otherwise the return shipping from the CGC office in Sarasota, Florida, USA to you is as follows.

1-2 Books: £42

3-5 Books: £55

6-10 Books: £71

11-15 Books: £80

16-20 Books: £93

21-25 Books: £106

26-30 Books: £118

VERY IMPORTANT: Fed Ex only covers £63 of insurance per package in case of any lose or damage!

Each grading tier is shipped separately. DWC can NOT guarantee combined shipping requests.

Once you mail your book(s), please send an email to submissions@desertwindcomics.com listing the books in the shipment and the method of shipping and tracking number. In the subject line enter "Books for [your name]". This helps us to better track your shipment and make sure your books get properly identified. It is up to the customer to track the shipment to DWC. If you are a previous customer, please indicate if you have moved since your last submission.  If you plan on moving or move in the next several month, let us know by emailing changeaddress@desertwindcomics.com.
